La grande famiglia

In the 1950s, a New York radio station created La grande famigliaThe big family, a programme for Italian-Americans sponsored by a tomato company.
The mechanism is simple, but ingenious: in a world without telephones, anyone, in exchange for ten labels as proof of purchase, can have the opportunity to hear the voices of relatives left behind in Italy.

In 2022, Cristiano discovers that in America there are thousands of discs with recordings of the show, sent as souvenirs by the radio to the participating families. Thus begins a search that reweaves the threads of personal and collective memories, starting with an extraordinary sound archive.
