Inspired by Marina Abramović’s performance The Artist is Present, In Your Eyes explores the power of eye contact, shared listening and non-verbal communication.

The installation is an experiment that invites people to take turns sitting and wearing headphones while making prolonged eye contact with the artist. 
The binaural sound heard through headphones, combined with the uncertainty created by eye contact, creates a powerful experience of the present moment.

By creating a space of acceptance and support in which one can explore one’s emotions with interest and curiosity, with In Your Eyes Ana Teodora Popa attempts to challenge the sense of danger or anxiety that can arise from prolonged intimate contact with an unknown person.
In a safe environment, participants have the opportunity to let themselves be carried away and be vulnerable.

During Lucia’s days, festival participants will have the opportunity to sit with Ana Teodora Popa and take part in the performance.
